Our Junior Designer, Ryan, wins a YCN Award

We’re really pleased to announce that our new junior designer, Ryan Delves, has won a YCN (You Can Now) Award for his work for The Artisan Drinks Co. On the 3rd September, Ryan headed down to central London to meet with the Artisan team, where his work was shown on an electronic billboard at The Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford. Later that evening, Ryan attended a ceremony at Toynbee Hall to collect his award. YCN launched its ‘New Now’ programme to develop emerging creative talent by developing connections with industry for real world learning experiences. As part of his degree, in Advertising and Brand Management at Staffordshire University, Ryan followed a live creative brief provided by The Artisan Drinks Co. – one of YCN’s partner brands. As Ryan’s course culminates all the skills of marketing and design, it suited the through the line campaign required by The Artisan Drinks Co brief. All work produced for the competition brief had the chance to be chosen for a commendation and featured in real campaigns across the UK. The campaign provided great exposure for both Ryan and The Artisan Drinks Co. as seen by their LinkedIn post: “Big moment for The Artisan Drinks Co today… Lighting up the Westfield shopping centre in London with the YCN – Artisan Drinks Co award winning ad. The ad is created by Ryan Delves and Laura Edwards who responded to our Artisan creative brief as part of the You Can Now student program. What an amazing job they did! And many thanks to Ocean Outdoor for bringing our brand to life on the big screen. Why blend in when you can stand out!”

On winning the award, Ryan commented, “Winning the YCN Award was the highlight of my University experience, dressing up and heading down to London for an evening of awards and celebrations was great. Working alongside my creative partner Laura, we worked to the brief The Artisan Drinks Co had given us and thoroughly researched and strategised what the creative campaign should be. I’m pleased with the visuals we produced and to see my work displayed in central London was really quite incredible, it’s not every day you walk past a billboard displaying visuals you’ve created!”

The award and overall competition are part of the New Now programme run by You Can Now. For more information, you can visit its website here: https://www.ycn.org       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsjXQ1xzRWk
